Our Story
A call through St. Joseph.
Fishers of Men Creations began with a desire to tell the story of St. Joseph. The workshop followed, and the two have belonged together ever since.

About Danny
Hello! My name is Danny Fisher, and I am the founder of Fishers of Men Creations, a Catholic movie-making company. I graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts and earned my candidacy as an Actors’ Equity member.
I served as a FOCUS missionary for two and a half years: one and a half years at the University of Georgia and one year as Team Director at Texas Tech University. After that, I spent one and a half years leading retreats at Conception Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in northwest Missouri, as Director of Outreach and Formation.
I currently work as a Major Gifts Officer for St. Teresa of Calcutta Newman Center, raising money to build a new church at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
I enjoy praying, playing football, acting, writing poetry, hunting, grilling, traveling, and spending time with those I love. I am passionate about spreading the truth of the Gospel through filmmaking, beginning with my first movie, The Man Who Fathered Christ.
The name
The name draws on the call in Matthew 4:19 — the invitation to become fishers of men — and on Danny’s life with his two brothers, the Fisher brothers. What began as a family nickname became the name of a mission.

The workshop
Prayer made tangible.
Danny made his first crucifix by hand in the summer of 2020. In the midst of the still ongoing movie project, he returned to the work to follow in St. Joseph’s footsteps in the workshop and labor by hand — and realized how much these crosses draw people into deep meditation on Christ’s death out of love for us.
Each crucifix begins with a gathered branch and is shaped by Danny with hand tools. The quiet, deliberate work at the bench is part of the same mission: helping people draw closer to Christ through the example of St. Joseph.
Stay close to the work.
The best way to stay connected with Danny’s work is to write to him directly.
